Bela Bela Region
Bela Bela, a Northern Sotho name meaning "Boiling-Boiling", which is synonymous with the town's world-renowned hot water springs. Deriving its name from the geothermic hot springs around which the town was built, it is widely known by the name Warmbaths,but officially changed to the current name Bela, Bela in 2002.
Bela-Bela is only about an hour's drive from Pretoria and not more than 90 minutes from Johannesburg International Airport. It is a malaria free area.The area has pleasantly mild climate during the winter months with an average of 286 sunny days every year.
